Be sure to get your submissions in before the deadline! As long as they're submitted before the contest closes they will be counted! There will also be a small window of time for those who submitted designs to make final tweaks to the design and add in story details if they'd like before the judging period.
★ 8/31 - Update on the extension possibility!
So I have been debating this a lot, and I have received a lot of pressuring responses privately, and many people being very entitled about getting an extension. Please do not do this! I understand some really would like an extension but it is very unfair to us running the contest.

Anyhow, I want everyone to know my choice was not a result of those messages, and was because I decided it would be best. The contest will be extended from September 3rd to the new end date of the contest, September 10th. You can view the new countdown clock here.
I urge everyone to complete your entries as early as possible because this will be the only extension I can offer. It's also of note to know that judging and prizes will be pushed back a bit since the contest is running longer. Thanks for understanding!

♢ Browbirds are a long-lived, space-faring race with wondrous advancements in technology and the ability to manipulate the mysterious magical energies that flow the many worlds of the universe. Long ago, they faced a massive demonic threat that nearly wiped the entire species from existence, and now a people that were once hanging on by a thin thread have managed to rise up, travel, and populate even the most distant worlds and, in time, have slowly made a name for themselves across the Celestial Seas.
♢ Your browbird can be of any type of profession you'd like! Whether it be merchant, traveler, map maker, mercenary, knight, mage, potion maker, bread baker, dragon tamer, pirate king, shoe polisher, monster hunter, ninja, telemarketer, local hobo, ect ect whatever you want! They are a very versatile species and their ability to manipulate the magical energies in their surroundings make them suitable for many different things.
♢ Since browbirds travel the stars in all kinds of ships, and have access to many different portals and teleports, they are able to meet and interact with hundreds or thousands of different races and species. You are free to write their stories involving your, or your friends other characters. Whether they're browbirds or not!
♢ In the future, there are plans to have various group activities and opportunities available to those who own browbirds!

If you remember the poll I had a while back, I asked everyone what they'd prefer for MYOs are released! The most popular choice -by far- was a contest. And everyone seemed very interested in a browbird MYO contest as well!! Since then, I've been planning on hosting this and working on setting it up. I'm soooo excited that this is finally happening, I can't wait to see what everyone does for their designs! There's some prizes and opportunities for everyone who enters. ★ Designing Your Browbird ★
----------------------------------------------During the duration of this contest, you may design and enter your very own browbird design. Finished, official designs will be able to participate in future group events, and you will be able to make your own stories to explore the lore of their universe.
★ The Basics

~~~♢ First and foremost, you do not have to draw your browbird the exact way I do, nor do you have to paint it. Feel free to stylize your design, you may make it as sketchy, realistic, cartoony, chibi, ect as you'd like! At the very least, it must be recognizable as a member of the browbird species. This means it must have the basic anatomy: the eyebrows, the bird-like legs and feet, the crest, and the nose structure. You can interpret these things as you like.
Submitted entries must be fully colored, frontal fullybody, and have a clear, uncluttered and unclothed image of the browbird.

♢ For a standard entry, you may create a standard-type browbird and use anything listed as common on the weebly. How you interpret these traits is up to you, as there are various ways to draw them and they will look different across styles. Traits listed for each tier are not the only options, they are just there to give some visual examples, you may use things not listed so long as it fits the general 'feel' of that rarity tier.
♢ You must choose two magical aspects, no more and no less. They can be anything from the common tier unless you have access to higher tiers. Please read over the magical aspects and choose which one you think suits your character best! You don't have to choose them right away, but if you want to make your design official at the end of the contest it will be necessary to choose both of them. Magical aspect does not have any particular effect on design's appearance.

Adding a backstory and personality info is optional but it is encouraged and will increase your chances of winning.

♦ Types: Hiros, Halvs, Ancients, Revenants-- all types of browbird aside from standard browbirds are not available for this contest. In the future, there will be ways to change browbird type!

♦ Crests: Do not use any crests that are not listed. Please keep your crest's general appearance close to those shown! Crests always give off LIGHT and they always glow and their coloring should reflect this (Please don't make them super dark). Your browbird must have a crest, don't forget it!

♢ When your design is done you can simply submit it to the group myo contest folder! However, if there is something you're iffy about you are totally allowed to send me, or the group a note if you want help or have questions about your MYO design. We're here to help!!
♢ After you've finished and submitted your design, you may make small changes before the contest ends, this includes adding on any uncommon or rare traits you might unlock. Once the design is official (when the contest ends) you may no longer use your unspent uncommon or rare traits.
If I notice that something on your design is completely off and will not be permitted, I will let you know and you will be allowed to go back and change it. Any mistakes must be fixed before the design can be made official.

Rare traits
To unlock a single rare trait you must refer someone who creates and submits an entry! They have to include somewhere in the entry that you referred them, or else I won't know! This will grant you one rare trait that can be applied separately to each entry. You will only gain a rare trait if the person you refer actually enters and submits a finished entry.
For all subsequent referrals you will get an additional rare trait!
It goes like this:
person A makes a journal/poll/tells person B to enter
person B sees the journal/poll and creates an entry into the contest
person B write on their entry "person A referred me!"
Person A gets a rare trait

Kitbulls are small, fuzzy creatures that take a liking to all things magical! Many browbirds, and other creatures, adopt them as pets and companions, but there's nothing stopping them from going on their own adventures! You can see some examples here!

All Other Entries + Prices
~~~For those who did not place, you will have the option to purchase your design(s) for a month or so after the contest has ended. The price will be $25/3000
for common-uncommon birbs with a bit more added on for those with rare traits (+$5/600 if the birb has any rare traits, or $30/3600 total) Point prices are slightly higher due to DA taking a rather large cut and a lot of time to process. Base Transfers
There will be the prize of a free, simple base transfer for all who place in the winners position!! It will be flat colors and lineart and will be on the smaller base. But they will also have the option of a larger base or more detailed painted transfer for a fee.

People were very interested in painted base transfers, but due to the heavy work load and time involved with painting, I will have to charge for them.
There will be two bases available and you can choose which you want!! Bases can be heavily edited to suit all different birb designs!! There will also be two style options, sketchy and painted. Sketchy will look similar to the banner at the top of this journal with rough line art and flatter colors, and painted style option which will be much like my regular adopts.
The winners all get their winning design transferred on the smaller base for free!

So! I've been meaning to write a post for a while, but every time I tried I couldn't think of what to say. I'm still not entirely sure, but either way I needed to say something. I wanted to apologize, activity from me has been slow for a while, and I've been unable to do the things I've wanted to do. The exact reasons aren't something I feel comfortable talking about, but it has been going on for a long time and until more recently I was able to continue working despite it (for nearly 6 years!). However due to more recent problems it has become too much to deal with all at once, unfortunately many things have taken a back seat while I take time for myself. Just to clear the air-- Will there be Celestial Seas events again? Yeah! There's a high chance there won't be a summer event, I don't think I'd be able to pull it off right now. Moving IRL!
Update: Moving again! Will be gone for a while since I'm shipping everything somewhere. Due to fires there may be a delay in when I'm back. --- I'm moving twice this summer! Tomorrow I'll be flying across the country and won't have access to my PC for a while since it has to be shipped to where I'll be staying. If anyone needs anything I'll have to get back to you when I return in a week or so. Everything is pretty hectic and sudden so I apologize in advance for any inconvenience or delays with planned sets and event happenings.There's unfortunately not much I can do. So!! I'll be spotty for a while until I'm settled, so things should (hopefully) be more normal by the end of august. Thank you for understanding!

Hello everyone, while it's been hinted at for a while now is finally the time! We're officially moving many features of our DA ARPG over to it's own dedicated website! We did a soft launch of patreons, and then allowed in discord members, and now we want to make an official post inviting every group members who wants to join up! With many new items, prompts, and events coming soon, there's a whole load of stuff to look forward to, and the website is helping to make that possible. This post will go over a few things you can expect on the horizon, and other important info. We hope you'll enjoy your stay here, and if you have any feedback please let us know so we can make the site even better! ★ Please keep in mind: The website is still a work in progress and likely won't be completed for a long time!
