happy holidays my good buds. i'm so excited that i managed to get these lil guys done in time i've have these ideas and have been planning these designs ALL YEAR!!! and it's really nice to finally have the chance to bring them to life. (and to see that i've improved enough to have hopefully done them justice) it's also great to finally have a chance to release some of the different browbird types <:3c can you believe it's nearly been a year since i first released my birb children into the cs community?? thanks so much for the support i definitely have plans for a lil anniversary thing!

anyway i once again couldn't contain myself and went overboard with these browbirds. they've got a lot of special traits and such and also come with a little bit of background info, which you're totally free to change all you want! i just... can't help writing little bits of things, the lore is fun to work with and i get SO MANY ideas as i work it's ridiculous. i usually have to cut things out bc it gets too long LOL..... forgive my writing also, i feel like i've gotten better but i'm still a baby when it comes to making it sound nice. anyway!!! sometime within the next few months i definitely plan on fixing up and maybe even overhauling the browbird site and filling out more of the lore info! there's quite a few new tidbits and traits i'm excited to add details on.

ABing will come with an on base ref of what they look like w/o clothes. You'll have some say in the body markings and such! It will look something like this and be on that base. you'll also be able to make slight modifications to the hairstyle and traits if you so choose, it'll be updated with the on-base version. i won't be making any edits to the original art.

It is unfinished but most of the information has been moved over and is far more organized there. You can also see visual representations of most traits.
I will update this journal occasionally and add in more things I've though of, as well as going back and changing things that I don't like. when i think it's got a good amount of information i'll move it on over to the site.
Questions about the species are very much appreciated and help me figure out what people are most interested in and what I should add next.

Seeker Of the Past's Light

Fully realized ancient browbirds will gain amazing magical abilities in their lifetimes and are capable of mastering many different magic types, they also tend to live much long than an average browbird. In browbird society, there is no higher honor than being an ancient, they are practically nobility and are respected by all and always have a much easier time getting leadership positions.
They are called 'ancients' not due to their long lifespans, but rather the long life span and extra magical power is said to indicate that one has been born with the blessed blood of the ancients coursing through their veins, meaning that thy could possibly have one of the gods as an ancestor, in this case it's likely that this birb has the god of time as theirs!

This particular browbird has the ability to mentally reach into the past and witness glimpses of events from around the world, even things that took place before they were born. This ability can sometimes be triggered by coming into contact with something that was present at the time of an event, such as an important item or a person who was present there. They often times will write down anything they discover through the visions in the many scrolls they carry on their back, they bring these scrolls everywhere due to the fickle nature of their ability. They've managed to gather all sorts of wisdom and intelligence in their time, which can either be a blessing or a curse depending on the situation.

Hiros are a dwindling subspecies of browbird that are rarely seen wandering anywhere outside of their few remaining sanctuaries. The notable difference between them and normal browbirds is the presence of their large, flight capable wings that allow them to soar the skies with ease. Some time ago, their populations were booming but due to several destructive large scale events their numbers have greatly decreased, making them a far rarer sight these days. Even fewer will show their faces in regular browbird cities due to the large amount of mistrust and wariness that non hiros browbirds feel towards them.
Hiros are not incredibly fond of regular browbirds, they also strongly believe in magical freedom and aren't held to the same standards as regular browbirds are in their societies.

They have incredible magical strength and are able to slightly warp time and space around themself giving them the ability to 'blink', meaning that they can teleport for shot to moderate distances. Along with this, they also are able to conjure up powerful lightning storms using their wind magic. Being such a powerful browbird has gained them a lot of respect from hiros and regular birbs alike.

Their weapon is imbued with a magic enchantment specific to hiros browbirds, allowing them to concentrate magic to the tip of the spear to create focused blasts of lightning.

Revenants were once fallen browbirds who were resurrected against their will by Void Ancients many years ago. The nature of the resurrection, being that the soul of a powerful browbird mage is bound to a corpse of a different browbird, usually causes the revenant to have no memory of their past life beyond vague feelings that they'll never be able to fully understand. Revenants are hated and feared by almost all browbirds, and most non-browbird creatures due to their dangerous and unpredictable nature. They are also unable to die through normal any means, and coupled with incredibly powerful magic they are gifted with makes revenants a huge threat to society in the eyes of regular browbirds, even if most revs only want peace and acceptance. Just because they have the potential to be dangerous does not mean they are.

A powerful warrior with the ability to slow, or even freeze time around himself temporarily. Despite their unique powers, skill, and courage, they fell in a particularly nasty battle when their home was assaulted. Their body was stolen and they were later resurrected to fight against the very people they once helped to protect. It was only when they came face to face against someone they were once close to that they slowly began to realize that something was wrong. After a long time of uneasy feelings and conflicting thoughts, they came to their senses. They were wracked with terrible guilt and confusion over the whole situation, which later morphed into an intense burning rage that they directed at the one who resurrected him and turned him into this abomination.
That was a long time ago however, and nowadays he is a valued member of the Frostguardians, a group created specifically for revenants, halvs, and other outcasts who, rather than isolate themselves, want to ease back into society in a more controlled environment while also doing good. They are powerful protectors and keep the world safe from all kinds of large scale threats. It's a necessary, but mostly thankless task.

Another small tidbit is that he's very quiet and can move without making a sound. The last thing his targets hear is the crack of his musket (it's named hoarfrost!), and of course by then it's too late. He's a very sharp shot and hardly ever misses his mark, even in the snowy conditions of the north.
